About Us

We are James and Sheryl Dean and are so excited to be sharing our life lessons with you!  We have been married  29 years now and have 2 beautiful daughters, Lydia, 21 and Sarah, 19!  Our girls were adopted from China (our whole experience will be a blog one day by itself!  Maybe to encourage others in the way of adoption!).  James is a Pastor and has been in the ministry for over 35 years and Sheryl is a Pampered Chef consultant and loves helping people stock their kitchens and prepare yummy, healthy meals for the family!

Sheryl and I have always been passionate about family. When we were dating we had discussions about marital roles and thoughts on raising children. After getting married we would buy books on marriage and family and attended several conferences to help us build our marriage even stronger. In the midst of our aspirations and dreams for family we were unable to have children. We met with doctors and specialists and no reason was ever found for not having children. However, God had his own plan for us and we adopted our two girls from China in 2001 and 2003. Through twenty-nine years of marriage and raising our two girls we have learned a lot and want to share some of those things with you!

There are three reasons for our Blog -  It’s All About Family.

#1. Give God the Glory! The Lord has had his plan for our family and blessed us in so many ways. He deserves the Praise and Glory!

#2. God has taught us so many things about family. We are just ordinary people who want to share with others the things we have learned.

#3. We look around and see the family under attack. Our hearts have been broken through the years as we have seen others who have struggled with family, marriage, divorce, and raising children. It's our goal to do all we can to help other families on this journey.
